Serving Our Members and Building Relations

SCDI is solely funded by its members and is committed to ensuring satisfaction and value for all. In 2008, SCDI invested in developing a dedicated Membership Relations Team to increase and build relations across the membership body. As a result members have benefited through improved access to information and advice, direct support with making business connections and dedicated programmes for new and loyal members.

Informed members are active members. Each month we publish SCDeye, a monthly e-newsletter to give all our members timely notice of forthcoming events, policy/government consultations, trade missions and business news.

Best Practice Tips for Members...
Do seek to participate as much as possible. This will ensure that you and your organisation will gain maximum benefit. Remember, you and your organisation are able to access all events across Scotland and in London.
Do remember that all SCDI events, apart from our flagship events (Scottish Council Forum, Highlands & Islands Annual Dinner & Awards, SCDI Gala Dinner & Awards), are free of charge to subscribing members.
Do book early for events and respond to invitations. This will ensure you a place and reduce disappointment.
Do inform us of any significant changes to your organisation and/or contacts details. The Membership Team endeavours to maintain an up to date database. By keeping us informed we are able to respond promptly to your needs and ensure your organisation’s active participation.
Do ensure you receive SCDeye, our monthly e-newsletter. This is your informative guide that keeps you ‘in the know’ on policy, events and other activities.
Do let us know of any payment delays or changes to your financial administration. SCDI is a not for profit organisation which is dependent upon its membership fees. Without you and your organisation’s regular contribution, we could not deliver for you nor ensure the high quality we aim to deliver across all our activities.
Do give feedback on our successes and areas for improvement. As a team, we work on your behalf and aim to ensure you are satisfied.
Do feel free to recommend our organisation to others. SCDI welcomes new members. Membership is the blood of the organisation. Supporting the development of our network increases your opportunity to develop new and prosperous business/organisation links.
Do get in touch with our Membership Relations Team for advice or support on networking and how to maximise the benefits of membership.
