Key Benefits of Membership:

Scotland-wide Networking
With access to fully developed networks in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen, your organisation will be able to build sustainable working relations for business growth. SCDI has dedicated employees in each area to ensure that all our members needs are met fully and to support the integration of new members and broker relations across Scotland. Feedback from existing members indicates that the diversity of our membership (which includes FTSE 100 companies, local government, SMEs, the voluntary and third sector, and education) has improved opportunities for business development.

Public Policy & Government Affairs
Government policy impacts upon all organisations directly or indirectly. As a result, there is an increasing demand to gain access and knowledge of policy development and change for business planning. SCDI members are regularly informed of policy consultations and given the opportunity to influence policy decisions with the support of our professional Policy Team. To ensure members have direct access to government affairs SCDI delivers the Meet the Politicians programme throughout Scotland.

Events and Sponsorship
Getting your message across to the right people at the right time is all important when promoting your brand or informing business communities and transferring knowledge. Our Events Team deliver over 100 events per annum through working in partnership with members. Members’ have gained new business, increased brand reach and improved organisational profile through sponsoring or delivering events within the SCDI network.

International Business Development
With over 48 years of experience in international trade, SCDI is one of the leading organisations supporting export trade throughout Scotland. As a member you will be able to access trade missions to 4 - 6 countries per year, gain in country knowledge through regular market briefings, and gain advice for government assistance and business contacts. £7.8m of business was accrued from the last series of missions.

Education Business Links

SCDI coordinates over 260 Young Engineers Clubs, involving some 3,500 boys and girls, to inspire and develop Young people’s interest in science, engineering and technology.  We foster working links between schools, colleges and local organisations. As a member you could benefit through participation or sponsorship.  In doing so you will enhance your community image, aid employee learning, and attract an enthused pool of talent.  Member organisations often like to partner with a local school to enhance their community links.
