Scotland's colleges contribute £14.9bn to the Scottish economy each year, representing 8.8% of the total economic output of the nation. Glasgow is the largest region in Scotland, with over 20% of Scottish learning activity providing opportunities to around 50,000 students each year.

In May 2014, the regional strategic body for Glasgow's colleges was established and is known as the Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board (GCRB).

GCRB is responsible for securing the coherent provision of high quality fundable higher and further education in Glasgow's colleges. It is also responsible for strategic planning of college provision across the Glasgow region, the monitoring of performance and the allocation of funding to colleges within the region.

GCRB is currently seeking to recruit one Board member and we would welcome applicants with experience in any of the following areas to further strengthen the existing skills of the Board: finance, audit, estates development, industry and commerce.

Board members serve on a voluntary basis, with reasonable travel expenses paid and GCRB members normally participate in around 5 Board and 5 Committee meetings each year.

Applications will be received until Friday 31 March 2017.
