Position: Director of Policy & Place, SCDI

Location: Based in Glasgow, with regular travel throughout Scotland

The Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) is an independent and inclusive economic development network which seeks to influence and inspire Government and Key Stakeholders with our ambitious vision to create sustainable economic growth for Scotland. SCDI's diverse and influential membership forms a gathering of knowledge, experience and talent which provides a dynamic and creative force for change.

We are seeking to further strengthen our team with the appointment of a self-motivated and creative strategic thinker who can drive change and steer Policy work in the emerging economy whilst maintaining connection to the heritage of SCDI. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to understand, navigate and provide sound advice on complex and often rapidly changing economic and political issues, with a sound appreciation and demonstrable experience of policy formulation and communication together with a high level of commercial acumen.

The successful candidate will have the ability to develop productive relationships with SCDI members, senior policy makers and influencers including politicians and the media. Creativity will be required to develop an effective programme of events and opportunities for members, and to achieve new sources of revenue in support of SCDI's core policy and membership activity.

Based in Glasgow, but involving travel throughout Scotland, this post will suit an outgoing personality with excellent planning, organisational, team management and commercial skills.
