Banking Sector Roundtable
Date – 26 May 2020
Location – Online
In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, strengthening a collaborative relationship between Scotland’s banking sector and businesses across the economy is more than ever.
Many businesses are unexpectedly facing serious cash flow or liquidity issues and are turning to their bank for advice, support and finance. Scotland’s largest banks are administering a number of key business support schemes created by the UK Government, including Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme and the Bounce Back Loan Scheme.
It is vital that these schemes are implemented and administered effectively to give businesses the critical support they need to survive and thrive – as SCDI has made clear from the beginning of the crisis. It is also important that businesses understand the challenges and pressures facing the banking sector, especially in terms of capacity.
SCDI – in partnership with CMS – are convening a roundtable with representatives from all of the major lenders active in the Scottish economy, to facilitate an open and constructive dialogue to:
- Recognise the community of interest in supporting success in the Scottish economy and businesses.
- Identify key steps to support and nurture current and future opportunities.
- Support implementation and utilisation of COVID-19 government loan and support schemes.
- Develop longer term best practice solutions to business funding and liquidity.
This is an invite-only digital roundtable for members of SCDI.
