Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, data has saved lives and livelihoods.

Health & social care data has been used to identify and control outbreaks, design restrictions, interventions and support, develop new, more effective treatments and create and roll out successful vaccines at record pace.

But ‘Scotland’s Data Gap’ – the gap between the health & social care data we collect, utilise or share today and the health & social care data we need and could collect, utilise or share in the future to transform the lives and experiences of citizens, patients and service users – remains a major barrier and challenge.

Our Mind the Gap report sets out how to close Scotland’s Data Gap, calling for the Scottish Government’s new Data Strategy for Health & Social Care (to be published later in 2021) to be backed by investment.

We are now convening key leaders, decision-makers, policymakers and stakeholders to chart a way forward and to help shape Scotland’s new Data Strategy for Health & Social Care.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Ivan McKee MSP, Minister for Business, Trade, Tourism and Enterprise, Scottish Government
  • Prof George Crooks OBE, Chief Executive, Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre
  • Fanchea Kelly, Chief Executive, Blackwood Homes, Care and Support
  • Daragh Ryan, Head of Clinical Digital Technology Strategy, Janssen
  • Prof Roma Maguire, Professor of Digital Health and Care, University of Strathclyde
  • Alison Culpan, Director, ABPI Scotland

Join us for this virtual roundtable session to discuss how to deliver on these priorities, transform health and social care and improve public health for everyone in Scotland.
