Our expert speaker for this event is Professor Bill Buchanan, who leads the Centre for Distributed Computing, Networks, and Security at Edinburgh Napier University, and The Cyber Academy. Bill has been named as one of the Top 100 people for Technology in Scotland for in every year from 2012 onwards, and regularly appears on TV and radio related to computer security. He has over 800 lectures available online, and around 5,000 subscribers to his channel.
You will also hear from SCDI about our ongoing Policy work in this space, which is supporting our members to prepare for the opportunities and challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The lunch will be hosted by 1599 at the historic Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. The College boasts an award-winning chef, and lunch will be served in the very room when Sir Joseph Lister first presented his work on antiseptic surgery and changed the future of medicine.
