Venue:- Village Hotel Aberdeen, Prime Four, Kingswells, Aberdeen, AB15 8PJ
Time:- 7:00pm for 7:30pm
In this first SCDI Influencers’ Dinner of 2020, Alan James will discuss the work being undertaken on the Acorn Project with partners including the EU, Shell, Chrysaor and Total as well as with support of both the Scottish and UK Governments. Through the Acorn Hydrogen project, North Sea natural gas would be reformed into clean hydrogen, with CO2 emissions safely mitigated through the Acorn CCS infrastructure. Hydrogen would be used in transport applications, and in the gas grid to decarbonise heating in our homes and industries. The Project has the potential to be a very important catalyst for clean growth in the north east of the Scotland and beyond:
In addition, Martin McCormack, Energy Transition Programme Director, CCUS / Hydrogen, Opportunity North East (ONE), will discuss the ambition around energy transition and the work being undertaken by ONE in this area.
