Extensive research by SCDI culminating in our Manifesto for Clean Growth, demonstrated the opportunity for Scotland to transition to Net Zero in ways which could strengthen our economy, and increase our prosperity whilst reducing emissions and protecting our natural capital which is one of our national strengths. It also demonstrated how a just transition could transform our capabilities in oil & gas to strengths in future cleaner energy, creating new green jobs.
However, achieving this will not be without its challenges and there are some big debates to be had as a nation about how we invest in our infrastructure, homes, and industries to achieve this. In this COP26 year, our members have told us that addressing these issues is high up their agendas. We are keen to hear from our future parliamentarians what their future visions for a net zero Scotland are and how they propose to overcome these challenges.
Join us to hear from each of the main political parties about their plans for Scotland’s energy sector and the environment in the next Scottish Parliament. This is your chance to quiz them on their plans and manifesto commitments.
