Sue Ryder is a health and social care charity which in Aberdeen, via their Dee View Court facility, provides 24-hour specialist care for people who have life-changing conditions affecting the brain and nervous system, such as Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and acquired brain injuries.

With a particular demand for specialist neurological care in the North East of Scotland, the demand for a place at Dee View Court has always been high.  An ambitious capital appeal was launched in summer 2017 to expand the site, create twenty new bedrooms and apartments and double its capacity.

Now almost completed this latest SCDI Members’ Lunch/Behind the Scenes event will give you a chance to see the expanded facility and will also feature an overview of Sue Ryder and an insight into the workings of Scotland’s only purpose built neurological care centre by Valerie Maxwell, Centre Director.  In addition, Emma Leiper Finlayson, Capital Appeal Manager, will explain more about how there ambitious plans to raise £3.9million to extend Dee View Court were realised but how the need to continue to raise funds remains pressing.

After the presentations, there will be a Q&A session followed by a Behind the Scenes tour of the existing and brand new facilities at Dee View Court. A networking lunch will complete proceedings.
