This summit will be the launchpad for the creation of an SCDI Future of Skills & Employability Leadership Group in early 2019. Contributors will include Scottish Government ministers and leaders from the private, public, social and academic sectors.
The summit has been designed to enable particpants to come together to start to think about how we can collectively work together to ensure Scotland is a highly skilled global nation, supporting the needs of businesses and the economy of tomorrow.
It is hoped that the outcomes from the summit will be used as a starting point for the new Leadership Group.
Some key questions that will be explored on the day:
- How do we identify future skills needs for industry and think about how to deliver those skills needs through the education and skills syste?
- How do we develop a roadmap for Government and stakeholders to implement and drive forward transformative skills and learning opportunities?
- How do we transition existing talent pool of people in to new roles where digital disruption has impacted on existing roles or where technology has displaced roles completely?
