SCDI Forum

Since 1969 SCDI have brought together leaders from throughout Scotland to consider with peers from across the UK, Europe and Internationally, the challenges and opportunities we face and to discuss what our economy faces just over the horizon, and how we maximise Scotland's place in the world.

SCDI’s flagship conference is unique in Scotland in bringing together the private, public and social economy sectors together on a level platform to discuss policy priorities, identify challenges and brainstorm solutions to promote Scotland’s future success.

With leaders from across the public, private and social economy sectors, the Forum considers major issues of the day and how Scotland should respond to the opportunities that lie in ahead.

By convening different interests, stimulating ideas, sharing knowledge, and coalescing around common ambition for Scotland, we help shape policy to support the long term sustainable growth of Scotland and the businesses and enterprises that drive it.

2021’s event was SCDI’s 50th Forum. Two hundred business, government and public sector leaders gathered at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 18 November for a two-day forum to consider Scotland’s economic and social future in the wake of COP26. The event was hosted by broadcaster Sally Magnusson and opened by Deputy First Minister John Swinney.
