Business Minister seeks industry help to address construction materials shortages

A combination of global factors and the impact of the UK’s exit from the EU and COVID 19 has created shortages from plasterboard to timber and steel to insulation. Ivan McKee MSP, Minister for Business, Trade, Tourism and Enterprise, has written to construction and manufacturing businesses to identify opportunities to manufacture as many of the construction materials Scotland requires and ramp up home-grown manufacturing supply chains to improve resilience, support net zero ambitions and help grow the Scottish economy.
