New Policy and Public Affairs Director for SCDI

The appointment of Clare Reid, who will lead policy, public affairs and research activity significantly strengthens a new senior management team, which has been reshaped to ensure the organisation is fit for the future.

Clare brings over twenty years policy and research experience to the role. She began her career in London as an economic consultant working at consultancy Business Strategies Ltd before it became part of big data company Experian. She rose to lead their Strategy, Research & Economics team and latterly, as Strategic Development Director, led their public sector team in Scotland. Most recently she was Director of Research & Innovation for Robertson Group where she was responsible for establishing their research function and leading their innovation activities across the group.

Clare holds an MBA and is a graduate of both Edinburgh and Strathclyde Universities. She is one of the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre’s ‘Innovation Champions’ and an active member of Offsite Solutions Scotland. She is also a co-opted lay member of the University of Edinburgh Court.

Clare will work alongside Chief Executive, Sara Thiam to engage with government and industry at a senior level and lead a team focussed on building strategic alliances and business opportunities for the organisation.
