SCDI responds to the Scottish Government’s consultation on the implementation of non-domestic rates reform

The Barclay Review of non-domestic rates taxation was published in August 2017.  The Scottish Government accepted most of its 30 recommendations to simplify the existing system and support businesses to achieve increased investment, job creation and growth. This summer, the Scottish Government opened a consultation on its plans to implement the Barclay Review and other related policies, such as the business growth accelerator and local pilots of higher rates for ‘out-of-town’ or ‘predominantly online’ businesses.
