North East

SCDI-50yrs-HI-NE-2015SCDI works across Scotland to ensure it reflects and actively supports members both nationally and locally. The SCDI regional office for the North East is based in Aberdeen - having opened our first Aberdeen office in 1965, and so we marked our 50th year in the city during 2015. We support a growing and active membership in the region, helping facilitate direct links to the wider organisation and across the SCDI membership.

SCDI in the North East organises an active programme of member engagement events each year, including an Influencers’ Series and the keynote Annual Lecture, which attracts industry-leading speakers, with our SCDI Annual Lecture 2016 delivered by Prof.Dame Ann Dowling DBE. Our SCDI Annual Lecture 2017 - now in its thirteenth year - was given by Martin Temple CBE, Chair, Health & Safety Executive.

SCDI represents members’ views and issues which are key to the region’s economy and leads on these, in addition to linking into SCDI’s national policy work. Spearheading this policy approach is the North East Committee, which is made up of an influential group of SCDI members drawn from across the business, civic and third sectors in the area.
